The Information Technology Management Office is providing a one-day training program for vendors that provide information technology products and services to governmental entities within the State of South Carolina. This course is designed to help businesses be more successful doing business with government. Some of the topics covered include: Government structure and why it matters, vendor registration, types of contracts awarded by the State, contracts you can participate in immediately, familiarization with the source selection methods used by the State, preferences, freedom of information requests, protests, and contract controversies. The course also includes IT specific issues: IT Planning, the IT Solutions Committee, selling software to the State, hardware maintenance manager, leasing, cost-oper-copy, managed print services, and more. We will also cover some of the common pitfalls and mistakes vendors make when contracting with government.
